Internship Programme Overview
As part of our commitment to building a talent-intensive organization, we invite young talents from our member countries to apply for our Internship Programme.
The NDB provides internship opportunities to students currently enrolled in or recently graduated from full-time graduate or postgraduate programs. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable work experience in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
Interns will be assigned to various departments and divisions based on their field of study, motivation, and aspirations. Under the guidance of experienced professionals and managers, interns will gain hands-on experience and learn in a collaborative and global setting.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be eligible for an internship at the NDB, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Must be a national of a member country of the NDB.
- Age: Must be 30 years or younger at the time of application.
- Language: Fluency in English is required.
- Work Experience: No more than 1 year of work experience.
- Educational Requirements: Must have completed graduate or postgraduate studies within the last 12 months, or currently be enrolled in or offered a position in a postgraduate study program related to the NDB’s core business areas, such as:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Economics
- Law
- Business Administration
- Human Resources
- Environmental Science
- Social Sciences, etc.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time during the internship period.

The selection process for the internship programme is as follows:

- Screening by HRD
- Shortlisting by the Reporting Manager
- Interview
- Appointment Approval
- Onboarding

Internship Details
- Stipend: USD 150 per working day
- Duty Station: Intern positions will be based in NDB Headquarters, Shanghai, China, or regional offices, depending on business needs. Interns must work on the Bank’s premises unless otherwise authorized.
- Internship Period: The initial internship period is between 1 and 3 months, depending on business requirements, availability of candidates, and visa eligibility.
Additional Notes
- Interns are not allowed to be employed in other full-time or part-time positions or internship programs during their time at NDB.
- The Bank does not accept applications from spouses, domestic partners, or close relatives of the Bank’s staff, consultants, or officials, or from the close relatives of their spouses or domestic partners.
